DESCRIPTION
FC-3 is the top model of the Fosse Controllers drawbar MIDI controllers. It is a handmade MIDI controller* made specifically to control the organ software VB3 II from GSI: https://www.genuinesoundware.com/?a=showproduct&b=44. The drawbars, potentiometers and switches are fully programmed to work with VB3 ll with no need for mapping. It’s just plug and play!
Along with a computer with the VB3 ll software, a MIDI keyboard and an audio interface, FC-3 gives you an affordable (and portable) alternative to a true tone wheel organ, both for studio and live use. The controller can easily be brought to gigs (in a dedicated flight case) and can be connected to a standard MIDI keyboard or stage piano via a MIDI cable (supplied).
The FC-3 is solidly built (by hand). The front panel is made of aluminium with printed text and the side panels are made of solid cherry wood. The electronics are based on the Arduino Uno (developer-board based on an open-source platform). It cannot transmit MIDI over USB, but it can be connected to PC / Mac via external sound card with MIDI cable, or it can be connected to “MIDI In” on keyboard / stage piano (which in turn is connected to PC / Mac with USB ).
It is possible to use the FC-3 controller for controlling other organ software using the MIDI-learn function in the organ software (for instance the Acoustic Samples B5) , but I cannot guarantee that all knobs and buttons will work for all organ software (since various organ software can operate with different MIDI values for buttons and switches, etc., reverse drawbar settings and so on). I will soon launch a dedicated version of FC-3 for the IK Multimedia Hammnond B3-X software.
THE CONTROLLER WILL BE MADE TO ORDER SO PLEASE ALLOW A MINIMUM OF 3-4 WEEKS OF PRODUCTION TIME (depending on how many parts I have in and how many orders I have). I currently have a waiting list so there is a few months of waiting before I can make a new order. If you would like to order, just contact me and I will put you on the list.
I recommend buying the Fosse Controllers flight case for shipping and live performances.
